糖心Vlog the SLHS Major

This major provides a sound background for students pursuing careers in education, health care, and vocational rehabilitation. Graduates with the SLHS major will have the prerequisite coursework to pursue a graduate degree in speech-language pathology or audiology, which opens careers in schools, community clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private practice. This major is also designed for students planning to work in the schools as a speech-language pathology assistant.

Additional coursework considerations:

  • Students must earn a grade of C or better in all major courses to count towards the BA in SLHS.
  • Prior to clinical certification, the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) requires college-level coursework in each of the four areas: a) social/behavioral sciences, b) biological sciences, c) physics or chemistry, and d) statistics. Students accepted into our MS SLP program must have completed these 鈥淎SHA 4鈥 certification requirements before starting our graduate program, with a C or better and statistics must be completed in the last five years.
